SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The South Plainfield Police Department is investigating a shooting outside the Liquid Assets strip club located at 118 New Market Avenue. The shooting took place around 2 a.m. Sunday. The victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. The extent of the victim’s injuries is not known, and officials have not reported any arrests.
The Borough Council in June 2013 voted not to renew the liquor license of Liquid Assets. It was the second year in a row the borough attempted not to renew Liquid Assets’ liquor license. The borough and Liquid Assets have been involved in ongoing litigation regarding the liquor license.
