Man Suffers Multiple Wounds in Sunday Afternoon Shooting

PATERSON, NJ - Police are investigating the shooting of a man on North Main Street in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 4 p.m., Paterson Police Patrol Units were dispatched to 40 North Main St. on a report of shots fired. The officers discovered a male lying in front of 49 North Main St. with multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body. Emergency Medical personnel called to the scene transported the victim to the St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where the victim was immediately rushed into surgery.

The victim is the seventh person who has been shot in Paterson since Sunday morning, Sept. 15. Police have not commented on whether this latest shooting is connected in any way with the previous recent incidents.
