MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The annual Art Walk and Music Fest kept downtown Maplewood buzzing all afternoon, with all types of original artwork and live music.

The juried art show made things tough for the judges, as the level of artistry was uniformly high. Jim Oliver, the director of Mary Boone Gallery; Ann Schaffer, who serves on committees and boards for arts organizations including the Guggenheim Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art; and artist Tara O'Leary, who trained at the School of Visual Arts in New York, made the rounds and tallied their votes.  An awards presentation was made at Highland Place as part of the Art Walk after-party.

Many downtown shops and restaurants also participated by hosting sidewalk sales and offering food and beverages to the crowds of visitors.  The weather was ideal and people lingered over the art and music with children and dogs in tow.

The Maplewood Village Alliance and the Department of Cultural Affairs organized the event. Sponsored included Vanessa Pollock of Keller Williams Midtown Direct Realty, Mona Lisa Framing,  Geralyn’s Art Studio, Village Trattoria, No. 165 and TheAlternativePress.com.
