MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The Maplewood Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Business Card Exchange on Tuesday night at the Burgdorff Center for Performing Arts. This successful event brought together nearly 100 local businesspeople to talk in a casual environment and form new business connections.
There was plenty to eat and drink, but it was clear that the real focus here was on networking. The crowd consisted of people from a wide variety of businesses in Maplewood as well as from surrounding communities.
“There were a lot of new faces tonight,” said Margo Hill, a Financial Advisor from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. “Since I live in Maplewood, but don’t work in town, this is a great way for me to see the local businesspeople,” she said.
Chamber President, Rene Clawson of Clawson Architects, thanked the crowd for making the evening such a success. She also took the opportunity to point out that, “A recent study showed that consumers are 63% more likely to buy products or services from a company that they know is a member of the Chamber of Commerce,” causing non-members in the room to take note and consider membership.
