MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Township and the United States Postal Service (USPS) have agreed to extend the USPS lease of their current downtown location through May 9.
"Steve Hernandez, a district Manager with the USPS, has advised the Township that the USPS will continue to operate both the retail and mail sorting operations at the Maplewood facility through the lease extension,” said a release on the Township website.
The Township is reported to be working with the USPS to find a location for the USPS operation within the Township. It is possible that the Township will get a retail-only postal operation, with mail sorting and handling being performed in Union.
