MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Maplewood Rotary Club announces generous support received from the Union High School Interact Club of $2,000 for Gift of Life Inc. of NJ and they also donated $500 to the UHS PTA for senior scholarships. This money was raised through fundraising efforts of the Union High School Interact Club during the 2019-2020 school year.

Interact is an international organization of service clubs for young people of secondary school age that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship and promotes international understanding and peace. Each year, Interact clubs complete at least one community service project and at least one project that furthers international understanding and goodwill. Interacts five primary avenues of service include the following: community, international, school, environmental, and fundraising.

Again, the members are very happy to help the Gift of Life Inc. of NJ and we’ve talked about the importance of working hard to support others. The Rotary Motto which we follow is “Service above Self” said Dr. Edward J Boffa, Club Advisor.

Our members are our most important asset. They are the force that allows Rotary to carry out its many humanitarian efforts and achieve its mission. Here in Maplewood, we are currently a diverse group of 20 members who meet each weekly to discuss ideas and implement programs.
