MAPLEWOOD, NJ – Springfield Avenue has become even more stylish with the arrival of The Little Department Store, a new clothing retailer at 1857 Springfield Avenue, near the intersection of Princeton Street.
“The Little Department Store is a store for every lifestyle,” owner Ameen Albany said. “We carry all categories of clothing and accessories, from basic jeans to shirts, sweaters, hats, all very fashion-forward.”
Albany said he has been interested in fashion all his life, and began giving fashion shows in his backyard at the age of twelve. Professionally, he has worked for the past 17 years in management at Lord & Taylor and Century 21 department stores. Now he is bringing his sense of style and his retail experience to Maplewood.
“We want people to know that The Little Department Store is going to provide great quality clothes at affordable price points,” Albany said. “We have received a great response right off the bat, having been open just about a month. Based on the look of the store, when you walk in and look around, you might think everything is going to be very expensive, but everything you pick up, the prices are very good.”
On hand to help cut the ceremonial ribbon were Village Township Administrator Joseph Manning, Rene Conlon from the Chamber of Commerce and Deb Yohannon from the Springfield Avenue Partnership.
