The Department of Transportation (DOT) is planning to begin its superstructure replacement project of (Morris County) and Livingston Township (Essex County).

The DOT is inviting the public to a Public Information Meeting to be held at the Hanover Park High School Cafeteria, located at 63 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, in East Hanover Township on Monday, March 10, at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Members of the public are invited to stop by at any time that is convenient for them within the 6-8 p.m. timeframe. Members of the NJDOT staff will be available to answer questions and discuss concerns.

The Project:
On or about April 7, NJDOT construction will begin on the Route 10 Bridge that crosses the Passaic River into East Hanover.

The work will involve a complete Bridge Deck removal and replacement. Proposed work hours will include days, nights and weekends, according to the Contractor’s schedule, until the work has been completed. First Stage: Eastbound traffic will be diverted to River Road and onto Old Mt. Pleasant Avenue during construction. Westbound lanes will remain open until the eastbound bridge deck is completed.

Second Stage:  Eastbound trucks only, on Route 10, will be detoured via South Ridgedale/Columbia Turnpike—South Orange Avenue, North on Eisenhower Parkway, and back to Route 10.

NOTE:  Two westbound travel lanes will remain open to car traffic throughout the entire construction period.

Detours and temporary traffic signals will be used whenever needed throughout the course of the construction.
