MAPLEWOOD, NJ – Township Committee incumbent Marlon Brownlee defeated challengers Arthur Gartenlaub and Kurt Kiley by a wide margin in Tuesday’s election.
As of this writing with 95.24 percent of votes recorded, Brownlee received 4,397 votes, trailed by Gartenlaub with 1,057 and Kiley with 365.
"I'd like to thank the voters of Maplewood for their support," Brownlee said. "I am gratified and humbled by the fact that I have been re-elected to a second term on the Maplewood Township Committee, and am looking forward to continuing to serve all of the residents of Maplewood. I'd also like to thank Art Gartenlaub and Kurt Kiley for running as well. Public service is not to be taken lightly, and I commend them both for their efforts during this campaign."
This will be Brownlee's second term on the committee. He has served as the head of the Public Safety Committee and spearheaded the creation of the Maplewood Community Action Program.
