Marty Higgins, author and founder of the Family Wealth Management group, will speak to the Old Guard of Summit at its meeting, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19. His subject will be “Distributions Land” – planning in the retirement phase of life, when it’s finally time to distribute the assets you’ve spent decades accumulating.
In his presentation, Mr. Higgins notes the difference between financial strategies in “Accumulation Land” when you were younger and acquiring wealth, and “Distribution Land” when your objective is to build a good life in retirement, with secure income to last for the rest of your life. In retirement, it’s not about how big you can build your pile of money; it’s about knowing what you want your money to do for you and your loved ones – and making your money work to meet your goals.
All age 50-plus active men are invited to attend the Tuesday morning meetings of the Summit Area Old Guard. Meetings are held at the New Providence Municipal Center, 360 Elkwood Avenue, New Providence. A coffee hour starts at 9:15 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. business meeting brightened by singing and humor. The speaker begins at 10:30 a.m.
