CRANFORD - Max & Luna Baby and Kids officially opened for business on Monday in Cranford.
The store, located at 10 Alden Street, specializes in unique baby and children's clothing, accessories, gifts, and keepsake items. The owner, Cori Ardente, also owns Anthem Style & Gift located next door.
"My son is 15 months, so once I had him, I started thinking about baby clothes obviously, and I have previous e-commerce experience for a baby retailer, so I kept it in the back of my mind, then this space became available," said Ardente. "I thought this would be a good time to give it a shot."
"I wanted to create a place where people can buy unique gifts, not only for their own little ones, but for their friends' and family, but also a place you can shop some brands you see online but may not be able to find in a retailer and see in person," she added.
The store hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also purchase items online and have them shipped to your home or pickup curbside or in the store. Ardente says she welcomes customers' suggestions on products to offer.
"I feel like people are really interested in supporting local right now as opposed to bigger chains. I've seen since reopening Anthem great support from the community and people wanting to keep their dollars in their community, which is awesome, so it felt like the right thing to try," said Ardente.
