SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – South Plainfield Mayor Anesh and the Mayor’s wellness Committee will be hosting the 3rd annual family Health and Safety Fair. The event is co-sponsored by saint Peters Healthcare System. The event will be held on October 19, 2013 at the South Plainfield Senior Center located at 90 Maple Avenue in South Plainfield.
The Health and Safety Fair appeals to residents of all ages. Last year, the event attracted hundreds of residents and dozens of vendors. There will be free flu shots, blood pressure screenings, blood sugar screenings, skin cancer screenings, dental & vision screenings etc.
The Health and Safety Fair will also have a variety of entertainment activities for children. There will be face painting, glitter tattoos, costume characters, karate demonstrations etc. The South Plainfield Senior Center will also have some of their Zumba instructors on hand for Zumba demonstrations.
South Plainfield’s very own Matt Victoria of JVE Entertainment will be providing music and will be the oratory host of the day’s activities. Mayor Anesh said “I look forward to this event every year. One of my goals as Mayor was to try and promote and enhance resident health awareness. Now in its 3rd year, I am very pleased, with how the Health and Safety Fair has been embraced by the community.”
The South Plainfield Police Department will also be sponsoring the event. South Plainfield K9 dogs Blitz and Kaiser will be in attendance. The South Plainfield Health and Safety Fair is free.
