Mayor Anesh “Borough Ready for Groundhog Predictions”

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Punxsutawney Phil and Staten Island Chuck both predicted six more weeks of winter this morning.  The groundhog predictions could not have come at a worse time for weary South Plainfield residents.

Tomorrow the National Weather Service is predicting a snow storm to hit the region with 3-5 inches of snow.  Tuesday into Wednesday another weather event is forecasted which may once again add to the blanket of snow which has already covered the ground for weeks.

This coming Saturday into next Sunday various weather forecast models have called for anything from an epic snow storm to a cold driving rain.  Mayor Matthew P. Anesh said earlier this morning “I hope the groundhogs are wrong.  I think everyone is praying for an early Spring, but the Borough is ready for whatever Mother Nature has to dish-out.”

If this week’s weather forecasts are any indication of the next six weeks, Mother Nature will be putting everyone to the test.
