SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - On Saturday, May 16, The Mayor’s Wellness Committee, in conjunction with JFK Health, will sponsor South Plainfield Mayor’s Wellness Health and Safety Fair. The event will take place at the South Plainfield Senior Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The fair will run in conjunction with Wheels for Bri, a local charity event sponsoring 6-year-old South Plainfield resident Brianna Feeney, who has an extremely rare genetic disorder known as Pallister Killian Syndrome, or PKS.
The health fair will include various educational information on topics such as such as fall prevention, smoking cessation, post-concussion, and stroke and rehabilitation services. Free screenings will be offered including dental health checks, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, memory and hearing. A dietitian will be available for nutritional counseling and BMI calculation.
The South Plainfield Police Department will be providing free Child Identification Kits.
The Mayor’s Wellness Committee will also kick off their Spring Biggest Loser Contest and Step it Up South Plainfield. Both contests will award prizes.
There will be free Zumba classes, Martial Arts Demonstrations, entertainment and giveaways for the entire family. In addition, Frozen characters will be available for pictures and autographs.
