McGinn Mardis Gras Mingle at Darby Road

What do these three things have in common: Dragon Punch, Cajun Chicken Bites, and Fat Tuesday?  Answer:  All were part of the mix at last night’s Darby Road hosted “McGinn Mingle”.

“Last year the McGinn PTA organized several school fundraisers at a few area restaurants.  Darby Road was the first parent social/fundraiser of the year” said PTA event organizer, Maria Wester.

With a good show of support, at a popular place for a Fat Tuesday night, the VIP roped off bar area may have been all too enticing to some of the other restaurant patrons.   Clearly, McGinn parents know how to enjoy their way around a Mardis Gras celebration.  As school Principal, Dr. Sasha Slocum commented, “It’s great to see all the McGinn family friends out together having a good time.”

Everything from the special McGinn themed drink menu to the yummy skewered fish and chip appetizers, and an interesting deconstructed reuben croquette with a choice of either thousand island or a grainy mustard topping - did I mention the Cajun chicken bites skewered with carmelized onion (yumbo) - All that was needed to get several of us asking, “so when’s the next parent social?”

Everyone went home with a prize.  Prizes included ski lift tickets,  t-shirts and gift certificates from Darby Road.
