SHORT HILLS, NJ - Melanie Rosenbaum of Keller Williams Realty has been selected North Central Jersey Association of Realtors (NCJAR) 2013 “Rookie of The Year".
The NCJAR Rookie of the Year Award is “bestowed on a member who has been a realtor for three years or less, and displays exemplary work in the business and humanitarian sectors.”
Rosenbaum has been with Keller Williams Premier Properties, which has offices in Summit and Short Hills, since April 2012. She listed three homes and completed one sale in her first three months in the business.
“I have had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people that are looking for their dream home,” Rosenbaum said.
Rosenbaum has always devoted much of her time to philanthropic efforts and worked this past year on Keller Williams' flagship annual humanitarian event, called “Red Day,” which raised awareness and funds for Autism. All proceeds from the event went to provide teachers in New Jersey public schools with “The School Resources Kit,” which will assist them in raising awareness and working with children to better understand their classmates with autism.
Rosenbaum also established and organized the first Keller Williams Realty House Tour earlier this year, the proceeds of which went to Autism Awareness.
“The House Tour is something that I am hoping we can expand upon and include other Agencies in the future, making it an annual event that will raise more money and awareness for autism,” she said.
While Rosenbaum has won an award this award as a rookie, she has been involved in real estate for a while. She earned her New Jersey real estate license in 2008, and was a referral agent for a few years, working closely with her husband, Matthew Rosenbaum of Simonian Rosenbaum Architects. Now that their three children are a little older, it has freed her up to become a full-time agent and she takes a more active roll in marketing the homes her husband designs and builds.
“Sometimes people say it must be hard for a husband and wife to work together, but we make a great team,” she said.
Rosenbaum notes that when she was ready to become a full-time agent, she chose Keller Williams because of the abundance of educational opportunities they offer to help new agents get their businesses up and running, as well as the people she met there.
“It has been so great at Keller Williams,” she said. “The office has such good camaraderie. People really help each other and want to make things happen for each other.”
Rosenbaum regularly attends continuing education classes, including the various seminars offered by NJCAR, and through Keller Williams to further her knowledge of real estate.
A Short Hills resident since 1999, Rosenbaum focuses her real estate practice in and around the area, even naming her website www.RealShortHills.com.
