MENDHAM, NJ - Mendham Players, West Morris Mendham High School’s drama club, announces its upcoming production of “RENT” by Jonathan Larson. The production takes place on March 12, 13, and 14 with shows at 7:00 p.m. in the West Morris Mendham High School Auditorium.

Mendham Players is excited to have Michael Barthel as their director as they step back in time to learn about the AIDS Epidemic of the 1980s and 1990s.

“RENT” was first staged on Broadway in 1996 and forever changed American theatre. This musical brings the audience into one year in the life of seven artists as they struggle to turn their dreams into reality. “RENT” is both captivating and heartbreaking as it strives to shed light on the people living with AIDs in New York City during the AIDs Epidemic. Beyond this, “RENT” is a musical about joy and hope in the face of adversity, friendship, and most importantly, love. Regardless of preconceived notions the audience might have coming into the play, they will leave “RENT” feeling not a sense of sadness but of hope and excitement for everything the future has to offer.
