Merion, Lower Merion Township, PA — On January 18, 2019, at approximately 12:30 PM, a burglary occurred in the first block of Merion Rd, Merion, according to Lower Merion Police officials.  

The burglar gained entry into the residence by forcing a basement window, said investigators.  Once inside, the suspect took cash and left, police said.

An image of the suspect was captured, according to the police report. The suspect appears to be a white male 20-30 year old wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a red hat.

This burglary comes a mere 2 weeks after a similar but unsuccessful incident on January 4, 2018. On that day, at around 1:51 PM, police reported, an attempted burglary occurred in the first block of Merion Rd. Merion. In this incident, Lower Merion Police officers responded to an alarm that was tripped when a suspect broke the window to a side door of the home.

The suspect did not gain entry to the home, police said.
