BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Berkeley Heights Fire Department was contacted Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. by PSE&G for a report of a ruptured gas main on Mountain Avenue on block 800.
Engine 4 and Squad 1 responded. Engine-4 stretched a hose line as a precaution in the event the natural gas ignited according to Berkeley Heights Fire Department reporting.
Crews from PSE&G arrived quickly and clamped the line. The gas service to a residence was severed by contractors working at the location.
