Local elected officials from Essex County, Livingston, Maplewood, Montclair, and West Caldwell joined more than 1,000 people from the Greater MetroWest community for the Super Sunday phonathon in Whippany and Scotch Plains, which raised $2,377,670 for people in need. Volunteers made calls, enjoyed stories and music, shopped for Hanukah, donated food, blood, and medicine, and brought and wrapped gifts for victims of Hurricane Sandy and other less fortunate community members.
