RANDOLPH, New Jersey (August 11, 2014) – Rabbi Avraham and Chava Bekhor of Chabad of Randolph have initiated a Mezuzah Campaign to help local Jews understand the importance of affixing a mezuzah on their doorpost, not only to bring peace and security to their own family members but also to bring divine protection to other Jews, including Israeli soldiers in Gaza.
The Bekhors are also offering a free service in Morris County to check people’s mezuzahs to ensure its validity – that it was written correctly by a scribe on proper parchment with accurate lettering, or helping them purchase a new kosher mezuzah. The text of a mezuzah scroll must be hand-written by a trained Jewish scribe on parchment paper and meets specific standards. If any letter is not written properly, it invalidates the entire scroll. Age and weather can damage a scroll, which may also invalidate the mezuzah.
If you want to have Rabbi Bekhor check to ensure your mezuzah is valid or want to purchase a new kosher mezuzah for the wholesale price of $36, call him at 973-895-3070.
