After the resignation of Councilman Dominick Aiello, it became necessary for the council to appoint an individual to fill Aiello's unexpired term which ends Dec. 31, 2014. Docteroff was selected from the three nominees which were submitted to the governing body by the West Caldwell Republican Committee. Along with nominee Kathy Canale and Jerry Smith, he was interviewed by the mayor and council on Dec. 3. Docteroff has most recently served on the township’s Zoning Board of Adjustment and is also the Caldwell Gridiron Club president.
