MILLBURN, NJ - Nancy Dougherty, an architect and principal at Studio 1200 in Short Hills, recently visited Millburn High School to critique designs that the students developed for a re-design of an eating area in the school library.
“It is exciting to watch students grappling with the fundamentals of program, scale, materials, texture, and context, all while learning how to express their ideas visually and using CAD software," Dougherty said. "It is a great reminder how complex and multi-layered the architectural design process is.”
Dougherty was quite impressed with the student’s ideas and presentations and offered her expertise and encouragement to these budding architectural students.
