Millburn Detectives Make Arrests in Credit Card Fraud

On 3/02/2010 Millburn Detectives arrested Antonio Llopiz, age 21, and Brandon T. Carter, age 21, both of Brooklyn, N.Y. It is alleged that on 1/15/2010 the men used stolen credit cards at Saks Fifth Avenue, located at The Mall at Short Hills. On 1/15/2010 a Millburn Police Officer at the Mall detained individuals and conducted an initial investigation after learning of a possible credit card fraud that occurred in Saks Fifth Avenue. Follow up investigation resulted in arrest warrants being issued for Antonio Llopiz, for allegedly using a stolen credit card to obtain merchandise valued at $267.50 and Brandon T. Carter for allegedly using stolen credit cards in an attempt to obtain merchandise valued at $575.00. Both men surrendered themselves at police headquarters where they were charged and released.

Mr. Llopiz was charged with N.J.S.A. 2C: 21-6H Fraudulent use of credit cards and N.J.S.A. 2C: 21-6C(1) Credit card theft and Mr. Carter was charged with two counts of N.J.S.A. 2C: 21-6H Fraudulent use of credit cards and two counts of N.J.S.A. 2C: 21-6C(1) Credit card theft.
