MILLBURN, NJ — Earlier this month, members of Millburn High School’s Ocean Conservation Club visited  Ms. Ann Rider's third graders class at Glenwood Elementary School. The visit took place on Monday, Feb. 10.

Club members Jasmine Ali, Julia Aronovich and Alessandra Ayoub gave a presentation to the students about challenges the oceans face, including ocean acidification, coral bleaching, and plastic pollution.

The three students also discussed the greenhouse gas effect and what the student in the class can do to lower their carbon footprint.

Following the discussion, the club members present conducted a recycling activity to teach kids what is and is not recyclable in Millburn.

At the end of the visit, the third graders wrote Valentine's Day cards about why they love the ocean and why the government should take immediate climate action. The cards were sent to New Jersey Senator Cory Booker.
