SHORT HILLS, NJ - The Millburn High School Autism Awareness Club is hosting a fundraiser, "The Awareness Cycle" on Friday, February 7, at the indoor cycling studio SoulCycle in Short Hills, from 6:15 - 7:45 pm. The event includes a 45-minute, professionally coached full-body cardio cycling workout class set to inspirational music. Cycling shoes will be provided along with after-cycling pizza and refreshments. No experience in cycling needed! Please go www.TheAwarenessCycle.Eventbrite.com to sign up for this event which will be fun for novices as well as experienced riders.
All funds raised will benefit the MHS Autism Awareness Club. The club, formed in 2012, spreads awareness of autism to our community along with the message of compassion, understanding, acceptance and inclusion. The club participates in fundraising for Autism Speaks, the world's largest autism advocacy and research-funding organization. Current club events include bake sales, raffles, organizing the annual school Dance-a-thon fundraiser for autism awareness and walking in the annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Each April, the club participates in Autism Awareness Month by decorating the school hallways in blue, handing out blue light bulbs for the international Light it up Blue initiative and spearheading the efforts to have April proclaimed as Autism Awareness Month in Millburn Township.
All riders new to SoulCycle are requested to visit www.soul-cycle.com to create an online account prior to the ride. Walk-ins are welcome, but are requested to arrive early enough to fill out papers before cycling. Riders under the age if 18 will need to have the Minor New Rider Waiver Form filled out and signed by a parent/legal guardian prior to the ride. Please contact the MHS Autism Awareness Club President and founder, Julia Truitt, at firstname.lastname@example.org, for any questions and/or if you need the Minor Rider form.
This event is generously sponsored by SoulCycle Short Hills.
