MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn High School English Department has announced its third annual Summer Big Read, which is required reading for all ninth-  to 12th-graders, and is inviting the whole community to read along. This year’s book is a novel, “On Such a Full Sea,” by Princeton author and professor of writing Chang Rae Lee.

Lee will be appearing at MHS on Oct. 9 to discuss his novel, described by MHS English chair Jessica Siegel, as a, “Literary page-turner, an insightful commentary on American society and values, and an unforgettable story that reveals us at our worst and our best.”

Porochista Khakpour, writing in The Los Angeles Times said, “I've never been a fan of grand hyperbolic declarations in book reviews, but faced with On Such a Full Sea, I have no choice but to ask: Who is a greater novelist than Chang-rae Lee today?”
