MILLBURN, NJ — In a message to Millburn Township residents, police are urging careful driving in town, and noted that greater enforcement measures have started to catch residents breaking said laws.

"Driving at high speeds is a dangerous behavior that unnecessarily endangers everyone on the road, including your neighbors and friends," said the statement, which was posted on the township website.

As part of the push to insure safe driving around town, officers from the Millburn Police Department will increase presence and monitoring of high trafficked areas for moving violations over the coming weeks.

Officers will be on the lookout for several things, including the following violations:

  • Speeding
  • Illegal turns
  • Failure to stop
  • Failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk

"We urge all residents and visitors to do your part and obey posted traffic signs and lights, limit distracted driving and SLOW DOWN," the statement read. "Be alert, be aware and keep yourself, your friends and your neighbors safe."
