The Millers led early when Kirk Willens scored on a header off a corner kick in the fourth minute.

Both teams exchanged offensive chances but stellar goaltending from Millburn's Marc Langendorff and Monroe's Tyler Utheim kept the game at 1-0.

Then, in the 33rd minute, Millburn's John Muller converted on an excellent pass inside the box from Nick Politan extending the Millers' lead to 2-0.

Monroe cut the lead in half during the final minute of the first half when Sean Doyle beat a diving Langendorff, putting the score at 2-1 going into the break.

In the second half, Monroe had several offensive chances before Millburn was called for a handball in the box. Doyle took the penalty kick and beat Langendorff to tie the game a 2-2.

The teams split possessions and scoring opportunties but were held scoreless through the end of regulation. However, with less than three minutes to play in the game, Monroe's Steven Nunes was called for his second yellow card, disqualifying him from the game and putting Monroe down a man for the overtime periods.

The first overtime went scoreless, then in the second 10-minute period, Millburn's Rohan Sood pushed a cross into the back of the net to win the game.

The Millers finish the year 19-3-2.
