MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn Township Committee voted Tuesday night to allow the Millburn Short Hills Youth Baseball organization to put up temporary signs promoting its program on the outfield fences at Gero Park.

The signs, which were approved by the Recreation Commission, are intended to generate revenues for the baseball league.

The decision followed a discussion initiated by Committee member James Suell, who objected to putting up signs in a public park. He expressed concern that allowing those signs might open the floodgates for other signs in other public places.

Ultimately, Suell was outvoted by three other members of the governing body. Committee member Theodore Bourke recused himself from the discussion and vote.
