Millburn Township will be Joining the National Night Out Against Crime Program on Tuesday, August 3

The Millburn Township Police Department, in partnership with the Downtown Millburn Development Alliance and the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce, invite Millburn Township residents to join with us on National Night Out 2010. This event will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd, on Main Street, between Essex Street and Millburn Avenue, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Rain or shine.

Main Street will be alive with music, free hot dogs and refreshments for children, two moon walks, face painting, and more. The Millburn Township Police Department will distribute child ID kits that include DNA identification. Child safety seat information will also be available. The Millburn Township Fire Department will provide fire safety information. Blood pressure checks will be provided by the Millburn-Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad. This will be a great opportunity for Millburn residents to meet law enforcement and other public safety officials while seeing neighbors and friends in a fun family atmosphere.

The 27th Annual National Night Out is a unique national crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). The evening is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/ community partnerships. This program also encourages leaving the lights on and holding front porch vigils with your neighbors.
