ROSELLE/ROSELLE PARK, NJ - A woman found deceased behind the Polish Slavic Federal Credit Union, 619 W. Edgar Rd. in the Aviation Shopping Plaza has been identified as Mary Joe Bodnar, age 55, of Linden, who was reported missing by her family on June 2.

She was pronounced dead by paramedics from Medic 9 and her body was taken to the Union County Medical Examiner’s Office. She was found by a restaurant employee of the Southern Smokehouse who was taking trash out to a dumpster. Detectives recovered some prescription pills at the scene and believe she may have died from an overdose. An autopsy will be performed later today to determine the cause and manner of death.

Her family had indicated to detectives that she was suffering from anxiety and depression and left her house without taking any of her personal belongings.

On Tuesday, detectives scoured the neighborhood and surrounding industrial area looking for Bodnar. They also received assistance from two bloodhounds from the Union County Sheriff’s Office without any success.
