Mitchell, Vernazza Lead Chatham to Third at NJAC Championships

TROY HILLS TOWNSHIP - Will Mitchell crossed in 16:23 and Dom Vernazza clocked 16:30 as the Chatham boys varsity cross-country team placed third out of 16 schools in the Large School Division of the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference Championships held Tuesday at Greystone.

Mitchell placed sixth in the race and Vernazza was eighth. Other strong performances for Chatham included: Grant Hauck, 26th in 16:58; Andrew Vena, 27th in 16:58; Liam Hynes, 29th in 17:00, and Parth Shah, 47th in 17:29.

Chatham JV: 4th Place (All divisions combined-20 full teams): Kevin Gesell--3rd in 17:50; Ben Seitz-Sitek-4th in 17:54; Dan Bresnahan--19:00; Luke Malanga--19:17; Jack Byrd--19:20.

Chatham Frosh/JV  4K course:  4th place out of 16 teams (all divisions): Alec Gonzalez-14:26; Billy Schneider-  14:29; Chris Schneider-15:03; Justin Corbitt-15:58; Matt Stasiukevicius-16:44.
