SUMMIT, NJ - The Moms Helping Moms Foundation held its Third Annual 'Snow Ball' Gala at the Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains on January 28, an event which the Foundation's officials said was equal part fundraiser and celebration.
“Our goal was to put together not just another fundraiser but rather a fun-filled celebration of all we have achieved to date,” said Lorraine Dias-Sotiriou, Moms Helping Moms Board Member. The evening featured delicious food, drinks, comic photo booth moments, and lots of dancing. Many of the attendees went home with prizes and winnings from raffle prizes, silent auction items and a collector’s worthy wine chest.
Joanne Goldblum, the founder and CEO of the National Diaper Bank Network, the night's honoree, provided an overview of why organizations like Moms Helping Moms Foundation are so critical to fill the diaper gap in New Jersey.
Moms Helping Moms provides low income families with baby essentials like diapers, wipes, and clothing. The Foundation partners with social workers and other local organizations in New Jersey to assist thousands of families. “In 2016, we distributed approximately 75,000 diapers to almost 3,300 families. With the proceeds of this year’s 'Snow Ball', we hope to continue to provide New Jersey families at those same levels or more.” said Bridget Cutler, Founder and Executive Director of Moms Helping Moms.
The event's Gold and Silver Sponsors included local businesses D’Amico Landscaping, Investors Bank, and McCusker Anselmi, Rosen & Carvelli, P.C.
