Montclair Man Fatally Shot After Altercation in Delaware

DOVER, Del. - Dover Police are reporting a fatal shooting involving a Montclair man. The victim, a Montclair resident and Arts High School graduate, was identified as Yusif Lamb, 33.

The shooting occurred Sunday afternoon in the area of South Kirkwood Street, according to Dover Police officials. Lamb was shot once in the chest after a confrontation occurred between Lamb and a suspect, Shamarr Willingham, 32, of Dover.  

Police officials have reported that Lamb was riding in a red Jeep Commander and stopped on South Kirkwood, where a confrontation with Willingham occurred. Witnesses told police that Willingham opened fire in the direction of Lamb, striking him once in the chest. Lamb was rushed to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts.

Dover police have begun to interview witnesses who were at the scene when the fatal shooting occurred and have issued warrants for the arrest of Willingham for Reckless Endangering-First Degree and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. 

The investigation is ongoing.
