Montclair PD Blotter: String of Bike Thefts, Trash Fire, and More

Burglary:

On 07/13/2014, Officers responded to Lorraine Avenue on a report of a burglary. The victim explained that their red and black Trek mountain bike valued at $350 had been stolen from the garage in the rear of their complex. The garage door had been left ajar because it was awaiting repair. Anyone with information is asked to contact our Juvenile Aid Bureau at 973-509-4751

Theft:

On 07/08/2014, Officers were dispatched to a residence on Lloyd Road on a report of a burglary to a detached garage. The homeowner stated that sometime in the past two weeks, a bicycle had been stolen from this garage. The bicycle can be described as a white Sole road bicycle, navy colored rims with a gold trim. The bicycle's spokes were broken and both tires were flat at the time it was stolen. The bicycle can be valued approximately $429.00. Anyone with information is asked to contact our Juvenile Aid Bureau at 973-509-4751

Misc:

On 07/9/2014, at 1235Hrs, an Officer on patrol observed a trash fire in the parking lot of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (94 Pine Street). This Officer requested MFD respond to the scene and extinguished the fire prior to their arrival. The fire appeared to have started in a box of trash in the parking lot. There was no other damage as a result of this small fire.

On 07/15/2014, Officers responded to Bellair Drive on the report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. The victim explained they have discovered that the tail pipe/muffler of their 1999 Plymouth Voyager had been filled with spray foam.
