MONTCLAIR, NJ - On Tuesday, Montclair resident Stephen Colbert announced on his show The Colbert Report that he was trolling Sarah Palin's website and bought a similar domain name.
Palin, who has launched her own television channel, did not buy all of the domains, leaving it open for others to do so. Palin, who owns "sarahpalinchannel.com," did not purchase "thesarahpalinchannel.com."
Colbert announced on his show Tuesday that he is the owner of "TheSarahPalinChannel.com." Colbert opened the segment saying, "Let's turn to something that will evidently never die and can't be destroyed, Sarah Palin." Colbert went on later to boast that he bought another website and his will be free instead of the $9.95 fee Palin is charging her subscribers.
The Colbert spoof website is basic with a picture of Sarah Palin and a byline that reads, "The only Sarah Palin channel on the internet with a definite article in the address!"
