MONTVILLE, NJ - The Montville football team evened up its record on Saturday with a 17-7 win over Chatham in Chatham.
Montville was led by senior quarterback Blaine Franc, who completed 12-of-17 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown, to go along with 18 carries for 124 yards and a rushing touchdown.
After a scoreless first half, Chatham took the lead on a pass play early in the third quarter. But Montville rallied to score 17 unanswered points, which began with Franc's 20-yard TD pass to Mike Fardo to tie it up.
Franc then gave Montville the lead for good with a 2-yard TD run later in the third quarter, before capping the scoring with a 25-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
Mylo Lee carried 16 times for 49 yards, while Fardo hauled in three passes for 53 yards. On defense, John Walsh made six tackles and came up with an interception. Gianni Hurley had two sacks and seven tackles, while Mohammed Gaber also had two sacks in the win.
The win evened up Montville's record at 2-2. It will travel to take on West Essex next Friday at 7 p.m.
