MONTVILLE, NJ – Police officers in Montville are given a reprieve from strict uniform code by Chief Andrew Caggiano in November when they donate to charity and mark “No Shave November.”
Normally the male officers are only allowed to grow mustaches, but for No Shave November, beards are allowed as well.
“Usually we raise money for men’s health issues,” said PBA Local 140 President Sam Greendyk.
In 2017, the officers raised money for two charities important to Caggiano’s and Capt. Mark Olsson’s daughters. (Read about it here.)
This year, officers voted to raise money for the family of Sergeant George Quentz, as his sons are recovering from serious medical procedures.
Caggiano was, of course, in full support of the fundraiser.
“I commend my officers for participating in this important cause,” he told TAPinto Montville. “I am proud that they are supporting Sgt. Quentz and his family during their most difficult of times.”
