Montville Township H.S. and Lazar Middle School Science Olympiad Teams Win Medals at State Tournament

MONTVILLE, NJ - Science Olympiad teams from Montville Township High School and Robert R. Lazar Middle School competed on March 11 in the 2014 New Jersey Science Olympiad State Tournament at Middlesex County College in Edison.

Students from 26 middle schools and 26 high schools participated in this competition, which is designed to encourage students’ interest in science and technology.

MTHS students competed against twenty-five other Division C schools and earned medals in 4 areas:

  • Mission Possible: 4th Place
  • Designer Genes: 5th Place

 Lazar students competed against twenty-five other Division B schools and earned medals in 5 areas:

  • Bio Blitz: 3rd Place
  • Solar System: 3rd Place
  • Experimental Design: 4th Place
  • Write It/Do It: 4th Place
  • Anatomy: 6th Place 

Both the middle and high school teams had prepared all year for the tournament, practicing after school and holding mock competitions.
