FANWOOD, NJ -- Morning riders on NJ Transit’s Raritan Valley line trains experienced delays of up to an hour inbound and outbound from New York Penn Station due to problems with Amtrak’s overhead wires. PATH cross-honored NJ Transit rail tickets from Newark.
NJ Transit, the third largest transit system in the country, has posted on its twitter feed that Amtrak has completed repairs. As of 11:45 a.m., trains have resumed normal service into and out of New York City.
The Raritan Valley line serves High Bridge, Annandale, Lebanon, White House, North Branch, Raritan, Somerville, Bridgewater, Bound Brook, Dunellen, Plainfield, Netherwood, Fanwood, Westfield, Garwood, Cranford, Roselle Park, and Union.
