MORRISTOWN, NJ- Both the boys and girls fencing teams had great seasons and will be competing in the State Sectional Championship at Hackettstown this weekend.

The boy’s team head into the weekend after finishing the regular season 7-1. The Colonials started off the year 5-0 before losing to Wayne Hills. Morristown is led by sophomore foil fencer, Euwen Brennan, and senior sabre, Daniel Noltemy. Brennan finished 2 nd in a freshman/sophomore tournament earlier this season. Noltemy went 17-1 this season and took 2 nd place in the County tournament in his weapons.

The girls’ team finished the regular season 5-3 and won their last 2 games against Kinnelon and Hackettstown heading into the weekend. Senior Epee fencer, Abigail Gingeri, went 16-4 this season andplaced 2 nd at the County tournament in her weapon.

"Our teams are looking very strong and both boys and girls have a chance at qualifying for various state tournament events," said Coach Chris Awad. " We have some more work to do but we are on the right path"
