MORRISTOWN, NJ – The Morristown High School football team will have to shut down for two weeks due to a positive COVID-19 case.

All Morristown athletic events were cancelled on Wednesday. The football team’s game against Roxbury Friday night has been cancelled. Roxbury will instead host Clearview. Morristown also has to cancel the Nov. 6 football game against top-10 opponent Delbarton.

Teams are being forced to alter their schedules on a daily and weekly basis.

Over 30 football teams throughout the state have been affected by COVID- 19 this week. That includes Morris Hills and Kinnelon in Morris County.

The number of COVID-19 cases has increased to 671 in Morristown, an increase of 10 overnight, according to officials. There are 1,682 new positive cases in the state.
