PARKLAND, FL- One of the more noticeable adjustments of life in the past year of COVID has been the way group gatherings and celebrations have needed to change. A celebration just isn't the same as it used to be, and neither are the celebrations of graduating on to the next phase of life, which often means college for high school seniors.
Emma and Holly Golub, daughter and mother Parkland residents, have taken this season as an opportunity to fill the celebration void. What began as a creative idea has now taken off as a business running out of their home in Parkland. The Golubs created "Boxes of Celebrations," which specializes in recognizing life's milestones. They create celebration boxes that are filled with items from a particular college or school that help make the new season feel special.
"What inspired us to start Boxes of Celebrations is the simple reason of always loving to see everyone’s college celebrations and bed parties," shared Emma. "What a great thing, to have a one-stop-shop to get all your college merchandise without trying to figure out what to get or where to get it. It’s especially convenient for those that want to be a part of the celebration but have to virtually due to the pandemic."
There are a variety of boxes and significant number of schools available to choose from. The boxes contain items such as team blankets, key chains, picture frames, giant foam fingers, flags, and more.
For local residents, there will also be a Stoneman Douglas box coming out soon for students that are entering their freshman year at the school.
"As of now, we specialize in customized College Boxes for many different universities," adds Emma. "Soon, though, we are going to come out with an 8th grade graduation box with MSD merchandise and goodies for incoming 9th graders."
Holly and Emma are excited to continue growing the business, looking towards a bright future.
“I look forward to continue creating new and creative ways to celebrate key milestones in our new normal,” summarizes Holly Golub.
"I’m so excited to start this new business with my mom and I’m so happy we get to help make peoples celebrations come together with a special customized box!” adds Emma.
The boxes range from about $50 to $150 per box. For more information, please visit the Boxes of Celebrations website.
