Motorcycle Stolen in Westfield, Criminal Mischief Reported

July 11, 2014 4:20 p.m.

Tyler Clark, 25, of Westfield was placed under arrest at police Headquarters after surrendering himself to answer to an outstanding warrant. Clark was charged with burglary, theft and resisting arrest from a burglary to motor vehicle’s detail.

Officers responded to Long Hill Police Department and took custody of Vladimir Diaz who was placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant by this agency. Diaz was processed and released on $1,500.00 bail.

July 15, 2014 9:04 a.m.

A business owner in the 1100 block of W. South Avenue reports that between July 10, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. and July 11, 2014 at 8:30 a.m., unknown actor(s) gained entry into an unsecured vehicle. The vehicle was found with the driver side door ajar and the glove box open. Unknown if anything was stolen.

July 17, 2014 10:22 p.m.

Tyrell A. Ferguson, 28, of Plainfield was arrested on an outstanding contempt of court warrant out of Westfield. Ferguson was processed and remanded to county lock up.

A resident of the 200 block of Golf Edge reports that unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle that was parked in her driveway unsecured. Victim reports that approximately $1.00-$2.00 in change was taken from the center console.

July 17, 2014 1:37 a.m.

After being dispatched to a motor vehicle accident, Westfield officer arrested Stephen Sheppard, 54, of Scotch Plains for DWI. Sheppard was transported to Overlook Hospital due to his injuries and released to a responsible party.

A resident of Carol Road reports that unknown suspect(s) entered their two vehicles while they were parked in their driveway unsecured during the hours of July 16, 2014 at 11:00 p.m. and July 17, 2104 at 5:41 a.m. Taken from one of the vehicles was a key ring containing miscellaneous keys and a gas pass.

Report of criminal mischief in Mindowskin Park. Actor(s) unknown marked up a structure in the park with permanent marker.

July 19, 2014 2:03 p.m.

Report of fraud committed on the resident in the 200 block of Myrtle Avenue. Victim reported that actor(s) unknown scammed him out of $8,000.00 over the phone.

Report of criminal mischief in the 600 block of Hort Street. Victim reported that while his vehicle was parked in the roadway an actor broke off his side mirror on his motor vehicle, a black 2008 Mazda.

July 20, 2014 9:05 a.m.

Report of criminal mischief in the 700 block of Cumberland Street. Suspect(s) unknown damaged equipment valued at an estimated $6,000.00.

July 20, 2014 5:45 p.m.

A resident from the 400 bock of First Street reports a burglary/theft to/from their unlocked motor vehicle while it was parked in front on their residence. The unknown actor(s) removed their wallet which contained a debit bankcard, credit card, a health insurance card, a driver’s license and a college student ID card. Also, removed from the vehicle was a “Fossil” watch, a phone case and $6.00 in U.S. coins. The approximate value of the theft is $121.00.

July 20, 2014 7:00 p.m.

A resident from the 0-100 block of Carol Road reported a found bicycle on their front lawn. The bicycle is described as a blue/grey-colored Schwinn “Jaguar” bicycle with its chain popped off of its sprocket. The bicycle was secured at Headquarters.

July 21, 2014 9:49 a.m.

At Prospect Street, a resident reported the theft of a motorcycle from the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of Elm Street. Victim reported that between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on this date, suspect(s) unknown stole the 2006 Yamaha R6, 50th Anniversary Edition motorcycle valued at $5,500.00. Also stolen were 3 pairs of sunglasses valued at $45.00 and the motorcycles registration card and insurance card.

July 21, 2014 12:48 p.m.

A resident of First Street, 300 block, reported a burglary/theft to his vehicle, a 2009 Toyota. Victim reported suspect(s) unknown entered the unlocked vehicle, which was parked in the driveway of the residence and took approximately $10.00 in coins and a Garmin GPS device valued at $200.00.

July 21, 2014 4:50 p.m.

A guest at a business in the 500 block of Springfield Avenue reported being the victim of criminal mischief. The victim states that between 2:30 p.m. and 4:50 p.m., suspect(s) unknown smashed the rear side window on their 2013 Toyota as it was parked and unoccupied.

July 21, 2014 6:18 p.m.

A Westfield resident reports the theft of a bicycle from the South Side Train Station bike rack. The bike is described as a 26” men’s mountain bike, color blue. Actor(s) cut the steel cable lock prior to removing the bicycle. This occurred between 6:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on this date.
