MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ - Firefighters from four departments took about an hour to bring a house fire under control this morning. 

According to a release from the Mountainside Police Department, when fire crews responded at 7:07 a.m. this morning to a call about a working structure fire at  1541 Coles Ave., they found a vacant home with a fire at the rear of the home which was venting through the roof. 

Mountainside firefighters assisted by firefighters from the Westfield, Springfield and Summit fire departments quickly attacked the fire in the log-cabin style home and brought it under control in less than an hour,  according to the release.

The house is being razed to make way for a new home, according to the release. After the fire was extinguished, electric service to the home was disconnected.

The fire is under investigation and, at this time, the cause and origin of the fire remain undetermined. There were no injuries.
