The Friends of the Union Public Library and BCB Bank are sponsoring a series of three lectures that will discuss the history of movie musicals.  The first of the three lectures will take place on Saturday, January 12th, 2019 at 2 p.m., and will focus on movie musicals that were created during World War II such as Yankee Doodle Dandy and Stormy Weather.  The second and third lectures, which will take place on Saturday, February 9th and Saturday, March 16th respectively, will focus on movies that were created during the Golden Age of Movie Musicals in the 1950s.  The lectures will be given by Sam and Candy Caponegro, who recently taught courses on The History of the Movie Musical and Deconstructing the Broadway Musical at Rutgers University Continuing Education Program.

All programs are free and open to the public and elevator access is available.
