SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – You may have noticed some artfully decorated stray pianos scattered around town. The mysterious appearance of these wonderful instruments is the work of the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC).

On Saturday, Aug. 24 at noon, the pianos will be unveiled as a public art and performance happening.  Anyone may step up and play the instruments, which will be in place through October.

The pianos have been painted by artists Russell Christian,

 Marie Glynn,
