COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M Equestrian jumped two spots in the latest NCEA rankings with the help of a rider from New Jersey.

In victory over Sweet Briar on Feb. 15 in a Hunter Seat-only competition at the Rogers Riding Complex in Sweet Briar, Va., Adele McKenna of Rumson, N.J. scored a career high 90 to won her point in Equitation on the Flat.

The next day back at home at the Hildebrand Equine Complex, McKenna closed the hunt seat meet with UC Davis with an 87-79 win, and Texas A&M took the victory, 14-2.

In other NCEA action, Auburn beat South Carolina 14 to 6.

In Equitation on the Flat, South Carolina’s Madison Sellman, of Honeoye Falls, N.Y. won her match, 84-79.

Oklahoma State upset then No. 2, Southern Methodist University, 13-7, on Feb. 16 in Totusek Arena in Stillwater, Okla.

Sophomore, Natalie Alcorn, of Somerset, Pa. won her third matchup in as many meets, in Horsemanship for Oklahoma.

Standout freshman Sydnie Ziegler, of Quakertown, Pa. recorded a season high in her matchup, although it was not enough to won the point.

After the weekend’s scores were in, Auburn remained on top in the team rankings while continuing a perfect 10-0 overall record this season. Texas A&M moved up from fourth to the No. 2 spot after the two victories. South Carolina remained in third.

SMU dropped two spots to fourth while Baylor remains at No. 5, Oklahoma State jumped up to No. 6 following a win against SMU and Georgia is at No. 7. TCU is No. 8, Fresno State No. 9, and UT Martin at No. 10.
