Nearly $25K in Property Stolen from Westfield Home

February 15, 2014 3:17 a.m.

Carlos Aldas-Acosta, 21, of Plainfield was arrested on the strength of Plainfield Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $750.00 pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of W. South Avenue and W. Broad Street. Aldas-Acosta was transported to Westfield Police Department where he was processed and turned over to the Plainfield Police Department in lieu of bail.

Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Lincoln Road for alarm activation at a residence. Upon their arrival they observed damage to the rear door of the residence. The door was slightly ajar. A check of the residence was negative for any suspect(s). The homeowner arrived on scene and confirmed that the damage was new. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the actor(s) did not gain entry into the home.

February 18, 2014 5:39 p.m.

A resident from the 800 block of Knollwood Terrace reports being the victim of a theft. Victim states that over a span of time actor(s) removed personal property valued at $24,795.00.

February 19, 2014 12:20 p.m.

Gary Saintilien, 18, of Elizabeth was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Westfield Municipal Court in the amount of $178.00. Saintilien was picked up at Bridgewater Police Department and transported to Westfield Police Department. Saintilien was processed and posted bail.
